Guide: How to Use the Annotation Platform

The Annotation platform enriches Tarifit texts with detailed linguistic information. Sentences come from the Translation platform and are analyzed word by word by the community.

What do you actually do?

For each word in a sentence, you can provide:

  1. Word structure: break the word into its parts (prefix, root, suffix)
  2. Base form: identify the word as it would appear in a dictionary, with its definition
  3. Grammar: indicate whether it’s a noun, verb, adjective, etc., with its properties (gender, number, tense…)
  4. Regional variants: note how this word is said in different Rif regions
  5. Word relationships: show which word depends on which other in the sentence (subject, object…)

Why does it matter?

Your annotations build three valuable resources:

  • A Tarifit dictionary that grows automatically
  • Complete conjugation tables
  • A corpus used to train artificial intelligence
